GaGaHoHo- from door to door
_ installation / video (HD, stereo, 9'52")_ 2017
This work was realized together with Rim ZiYoung in the context of the exhibition "Maker City" at the "Connected City" festival in Seoul 2017. The output consists of the creation of a workshop space, that in the end became the exhibition space and the creation of a 10 minute video-work. The video is a journey and performance through the sewing manufacturies area Seogyedong near Seoul station. We used the workshop to create the costume for the performance in the video. We collected waste fabrics from the sewing manufacturies area and knitted small pieces of the waste fabric into a big net to create the costume. Then we filmed choreographer Kwon Lyon-Eun performing in different places of Seogyedong. The costume and performance refers to the korean traditional Bukcheong-Lion dance, where the dancers go from house to house in the beginning of the year to scare away bad spirits. In the end the workshop became the exhibition space, where spectators could watch the video, try the costume or help making the costume grow, by knitting more of the waste fabric into the net.
