about Crash&Flow
_ interactive installation _ 2004

This work is an interpretation of the theme for the media-exhibition 'Crash&Flow'. It took place in the Soul-Seodaemun-Prison where the japanese kept and murdered many members of the korean resistance in the beginning of the 20th century. It is a work about the flow of time, memories that fade away and an experiment with the participation of the public. The shadows of visitors are composed over a background-video that echoes historical still-images, the shadows are recorded and played back when there is no movement in front of the screen - so the visitors can experience themselves to become history ... superimposed over the shadows is text from an online guestbook, that visitors where able to write in .
